What the numbers show

FY2025 obligations were up 46.5% from $55.1 million in FY2024, and compare with an average of $38.5 million a year over FY2015–FY2024. The highest year since FY2015 was FY2023, at $85.8 million. In total, $466.0 million was obligated over FY2015–FY2025.

The agency that managed the most aid for Costa Rica in FY2025 was the Department of State ($45.1 million, 55.8% of the total). By sector, the largest was Program Support ($38.1 million, 47.3%). That sector includes: Direct Administrative Costs; Monitoring and Evaluation. ForeignAssistance.gov classified $9.1 million (11.3%) as military assistance and the rest as economic assistance.
